Full Description

A number of extractive pits and associated spoil heaps are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs and LiDAR imagery {1-2}. They were digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project. An 'Old Chalk Pit', shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1864 {3}.
