Full Description

One rectangular and one possible sub-rectangular ditched enclosure are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs taken in 2004. The enclosures are both orientated roughly NNE / SSW and are situated roughly 60m apart. The rectangular enclosure is southernmost and appears the have a break or possible entrance in its eastern side. <1>

Two rectilinear ditched enclosures and associated field boundaries, visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs <2-3>. The northern enclosure is 37m by 35m in size with a small gap mid-way along it's northern side being the possible location of an entrance. The second enclosure lies 26m to the south and is 31m by 29m in size. The enclosures appear to be set within fragments of a ditched field system which is roughly aligned NE-SW. The features are likely to be of Iron Age or Roman origin although a medieval date cannot be ruled out. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
