Full Description
An isolation hospital marked on Ordnance survey map of 1930, now Westhaven Hospital. <1>
Buildings and structures are visible at this location on aerial photographs taken in 1947 <2>. They are considered likely to be associated with the early modern isolation hospital mentioned above. These features were digitally plotted during the South West Rapid Coastal Zone Assessment Survey (Dorset). They are not visible on the most recent comprehensive aerial images available to the project, this area having since been built over by a modern hospital.
An isolation hospital, built in 1902 and adjoining the smallpox hospital. The hospital buildings are of corrugated iron, supplied by Harbrow of London, and are all single-storey with gabled roofs. They were re-clad circa 1984. <3>
