Summary

Possible bowl barrow, diameter 21.0m, height 2.0m. It is ditchless, gorse covered, and has suffered from light surface quarrying on the SW which has accentuated the mound. From the NE however it appears more like a part of the natural hill than a barrow. The site is visible on aerial photographs and was digitally plotted for the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.

Full Description

'D' - SY 54498690 - Diameter 22 paces, height 6 1/2ft., with a ditch. <1>

'D' - Possible bowl barrow, diameter 21.0m, height 2.0m. It is ditchless, gorse covered, and has suffered from light surface quarrying on the SW which has accentuated the mound. From the
NE however it appears more like a part of the natural hill than a barrow. <3>

The site is visible on aerial photographs <5> and was digitally plotted for the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
