Full Description

'E' - SY 53808733 - Diameter 7 paces, height 1 ft, on arable land. <1>

No mention of barrow 'E'. <2>

"There has never been a barrow at the position indicated as barrow 'E', but many years ago, after the first World War, a dump was made in that area when the field was cleared of large ant-hills. This mound was visible until 1942 when the field was ploughed" <3.1>. There is no visible mound, or soil mark denoting the site of a barrow, and the clearance mound mentioned seems to have been mistaken for a barrow. <3>
