'PUDDLETOWN AND BURLESTON. Drought conditions in September 1984 and cultivation since have revealed a variety of buried landscape features, all probably of prehistoric date, lying on either side of the valley separating the parishes of Puddletown and Burleston, 2 km south of Dewlish village. … Other marks lower down the hillside include two linear features in the south-east corner of the field, heading north-east to the flood plain (SY 77319598). … The above is only a preliminary note, the result of the examination of photographs without detailed plotting or fieldwork.’

No visible trace, the field newly ploughed and harrowed when viewed from RCHM Burleston 6 to ENE. There are vague soil marks in the field but nothing clearly a barrow from this vantage point. The position of these ring ditches faces the barrow group on Lords Down and is visible from there. Papworth MDJ, TWA 19.11.85
