Full Description

An axe was found on the surface after an area of former parkland had been ploughed in March 1955. The spot where
this axe was found was pointed out on the map by Mr Brown at SY 7688 9685. The implement is a Ne. flint axe, approximately
9 1/2" long and 3ins wide, and with a maximum thickness of 1 1/2 ins. It is unbroken and the fine flaking which has shaped
the axe is covered with an all-over white patination. The implement is still in the possession of Mr Brown. <1>
