Summary

A Bronze Age bowl barrow situated on a south facing ridge. The barrow has a mound composed of earth and chalk, with maximum dimensions of 19 metres in diameter and about 0.6 metres in height. Surrounding the mound is a quarry ditch which has become infilled over the years, but will survive as a buried feature 2 metres wide.

Full Description

A bowl barrow. (No dimensions given). <2>

A ditchless grass covered bowl barrow, with a flat top as though it has been excavated. Diameter of the mound, 15.0 metres; height 1.3 metres. This barrow is at the junction of two lynchets, one from the north-east, the other from the south-east. Since both lynchets run into the mound they are obviously of later date than the barrow. <3>

SY 7185 9492. Bowl barrow, 49ft diameter and 3ft high and somewhat spread situated 70 yds east of Laycock Dairy Farm. <4>
