The dyke is clearly visible on aerial photographs <2> and was digitally plotted during the the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.

'DYKE on Wears Hill, ¾ m. N.N.W. of the church, is nearly 300 yards along, aligned approximately N. and S., cutting across the ridge. The bank is about 2 ft. high with a ditch on the W. 1½ ft. deep, overall width 23 ft. The S. end curves slightly to the E., the rest is straight.'
