Full Description
A lime kiln recorded as ‘old limekiln’ on the second edition (1900-1902) Ordnance Survey map. The date of this kiln is not known but it is most likely to be late nineteenth century. The site was visited in 1992-93 by Peter Stanier, who could find no trace of the kiln structure.(2)
A lime kiln is marked at this location on the OS 1st edition map. It is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs {1} and was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project. This record duplicates MDO2108.
