A rectangular banked and ditched enclosure of possible Iron Age or Romano-British date, is visible as cropmarks and earthworks on aerial photographs. It is located on the summit of a hill just north-west of Hampton Plantations and is approximately 150m x 64m in size. Two other enclosures (MDO21690 and MDO21698) are located to the south of this one and are probably contemporary with it. It has been disturbed by post-medieval chalk pits (MDO21257) in some places. {1-5}
