Full Description
Bronze Age barrow, visible as a low earthworks on aerial photographs {1}. One of a group of barrows at Northdown Barn. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.

'Poxwell: (11) Bowl (71128468) 150 yds. S.E. of last. Diam. 100 ft., ht. 6 ft. Ploughed. Probably one of two together excavated by Warne: one contained primary (?) cremation in globular urn and eight secondary inurned cremations in top of mound; in the other, only dug on E., was a cremation beneath probably inverted urn containing cremation in small vessel (Ant. J. XIII (1933), 446).'
