Full Description
(Area centred at SY 57639480:A; Centred at SY 58129448:B.) Two areas of well defined Md. strip lynchets each set on a N.W facing slope and with lynchets from 0.5m. to 2.0m. high. These lynchets may well be associated with the nearby earthworks which apparently represent Md. Farmsteads. The systems are visible on AP CPE/UK/2431/4147. <1>
Medieval strip lynchets on the west slopes of Soapers Hill, visible as earthworks on aerial photographs. The medieval system possibly overlies an earlier prehistoric field system. Associated parallel cultivation marks are visible as cropmarks and may be medieval or post medieval in origin. <2-5>
