Summary

A Bronze Age bowl barrow lying inside the Iron Age hillfort on Eggardon. In 1952 this monument was reported as being around 42 feet in diameter with a mound about two feet high. The mound is damaged.

Full Description

A bowl barrow; diameter 13 paces, height 1 1/2 ft. There is a hollow in the top of the mound. <2>

A flat topped bowl barrow with no visible ditch. The barrow is 13.0m. in diameter and 0.4m. high, and is at present under crops. <4>

A Bronze Age bowl barrow lying inside Eggardon Hillfort. The barrow is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs. <5>

'(12) EGGARDON … Within the enclosure are two large mounds, probably barrows, that marked "A" on plan having a diameter of 42 ft. and a height of about 2 ft.; while mound "B" has a diameter of about 42 ft. and a height of 4½ ft. Both have been considerably damaged.'
