Full Description
Uncertain. This might be an earthern circle or a truncated bowl barrow. Diameter 24 paces, height 1 1/2 ft. <3>
A group of barrows which are grass covered, but on arable land, and have all been ploughed over in recent years. Barrow F: A circular flinty bank 6 metres wide and 0.3 metres high with a modern 1.5 metre break in the north. Grass covered, and interior 14 metres in diameter. On the west side the bank is poorly defined. This appears to be an earth circle rather than a bowl barrow. No visible ditch. <4>
ircular banked enclosure, 25m across is visible as earthworks on aerial photographs to the east of Eggardon Hillfort. The site lies within a Bronze Age cemetery and may be the site of a Bronze Age barrow or hengiform monument. A gap is visible on its eastern side which may be a later feature. <5-6> The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
