Monument record MDO21244 - Chalk pits, Winterbourne Abbas and Winterbourne Steepleton

Six pits are visible as cropmarks and earthworks on aerial photographs and LIDAR. They are probably the sites of post medieval chalk pits. Possibly detected in the Winterbourne Abbas Corridor Geophysical Suvey in 2017 (EDO7852).

Possibly detected in the Winterbourne Abbas Corridor Geophysical Suvey in 2017 (EDO7852) in field 390C but interpretation of the field was more tentative.
