Full Description

(SY636854) Corton was anciently a manor and hamlet but is now only a farm. <1>

It is included in Domesday where it is mentioned that two thegns held it in parage in the reign of Edward the Confessor. <2-3>

Earthworks interpreted as possible settlement remains are visible on an aerial photograph taken by Francesca Radcliffe on 20 September 1991. <4>
