Full Description

A circular hollow, internal diameter 8.5m., depth 1.3m. with a 1.5m. with a wide stony rim, the outer slopes of which fall away on either side of the ridge. The possibility of a modern origin was considered but its position and proximity to an accepted barrow (MDO2057) suggest it may be sepulchral, presumably a pond barrow, even though the hollow is rather deep for its size. <1>

Also visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs <2-3>, the hollow measuring approximately 6 metres in diameter, with an outer bank 3.8m in width. This site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
