Full Description

A group of pits of various sizes are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs. They are probably the sites of post medieval gravel or sand pits. A survey which took place as part of an evaluation in advance of gravel extraction at this location recorded Bronze Age finds ( MDO2873) and possible archaeological anomalies and so there is potential that these pits are related tosome form of Bronze Age activity or settlement. {1-2}
