Full Description

Numerous hollows lie within Puddletown Forest. They are interpreted as swallet holes by the Ordnance Survey and therefore considered to be natural solution hollows. Additional hollows, not previously marked on the OS maps, have been plotted from aerial photographs, most are considered to be natural features but some may be post medieval chalk pits. {1-2}
