Full Description
Six pits are visible as cropmarks and low earthworks on aerial photographs. They may be post medieval chalks pits as one is marked as a 'Old Chalk Pit' on the OS 1st Edition Map. However the close proximity to Puddletown Forest with it's numerous natural solution hollows (swallet holes) MDO20495, mean that a natural origin cannot be ruled out. {1}
