Full Description

Charles Clay had a flax spinning mill off North Street beside the River Brit in 1842 (1). It is shown on the 1843 Beaminster Tithe Map (2). In 1851, Robert Bugler took over the site in 1851 and converted the works to a sawmill run by waterpower, when he established his wheelwright and agricultural machinery business here.

The works have been demolished and are beneath a housing estate.
