Full Description

Long, early-19th century 2-storey range of 13 bays, of stone with a slate roof. The building has large window openings to both storeys with wooden lintels. There is a door with a loading-door above in the first bay at the west end and a large opening from ground to eaves in bays 3 - 4. The range is an eastward extension of a taller 2-storey rubble building, possibly of late-18th century date, with a stripped roof, itself probably a rear extension of a 2-storeyed rubble stone building with north-south ridge, also stripped. The west elevation has a wide doorway to the street with a wide window above. Timber framing is visible on the north gable end where the building was probably part of a range extending further northwards originally. The eastern side of the roof of the 13-bay range is pantiled. The building was demolished and replaced by new housing in July 1998. <6>
