Listed Building record MDO20051 - 2 St Michael's Lane, Bridport

Warehouse, probably 18th century in date, three storeys and attics, of hammer dressed stone. Now converted into a house. One range of loading doors, with winch hoist above. The warehouse was formerly the premises of George Kenway, rope and net manufacturer and merchant, in the early 20th century.

Warehouse and attached house on west side of St Michael's Lane. The warehouse is probably 18th or early 19th century in date. It is of three storeys and attics and is built of coursed rubble with a gabled roof and apex brick stack at north end. It is of three bays with a central range of loading doors, with winch hoist above. The windows are flat-headed with splayed stone heads. The south end bay comprised a through passage, which may have been inserted later. Now converted into a house. (1)

This warehouse was formerly the premises of George Kenway, rope, line, twine, shoethread and net manufacturer and merchant, who was here in the early 20th century, as mentioned in trade directories from 1905 and 1907 (2).
