Summary

At ST 72910224, is a small crescentic portion of mound, 8.0m by 4.0m and up to 0.4m high. It may be the remains of a barrow with its northwest half destroyed by the boundary of the wood. A small mound 5.5m across is visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery; it is possibly the site of a round barrow and was digitally recorded from lidar imagery during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project.

Full Description

At ST 72910224, is a small crescentic portion of mound, 8.0m by 4.0m and up to 0.4m high. It may be the remains of a barrow with its northwest half destroyed by the boundary of the wood.

Discovered during field investigation.

Surveyed at 1:2500 on MSD. <1>

A small mound 5.5m across is visible as low earthworks on lidar imagery; it is possibly the site of a round barrow and was digitally recorded from lidar imagery during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project. (Lidar 2012 (3)).
