Evidence for a ball court at Sherborne School immediately north of the Abbey Church was recovered during excavations to the north of The Slype during 1974-6. 18th and 19th century walls were excavated which correspond with those shoown on maps as marking the ball court. This space is marked on a map dated 1851.

Evidence for a ball court at Sherborne School immediately north of the Abbey Church was recovered during excavations to the north of The Slype during 1974-6. The records of this excavation have been published in PDNHAS monograph 16 (1).

18th and 19th century walls were excavated which correspond with those shown on maps as marking the ball court. This space is marked on a map dated 1851. (1)
