Summary

A linear earthwork crossing the ridge of the hill. One of several cross dykes around Lyscombe Bottom. A single linear bank is visible on lidar imagery runing for 98m across the ridge of Lyscombe Hill, it was digitally recorded from lidar imagery during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project. It is first marked as a cross dyke on the OS 4th edition (OS 1980) however it may alternatively be part of a wider system of field boundaries extending across this part of the hill.

Full Description

A single linear bank is visible on lidar imagery runing for 98m across the ridge of Lyscombe Hill, it was digitally recorded from lidar imagery during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project (Lidar 2021 (2)) . It is first marked as a cross dyke on the OS 4th edition (OS 1980) however it may alternatively be part of a wider system of field boundaries extending across this part of the hill.
