Summary

A bowl barrow partly disturbed by a later woodland bank on the eastern side. In 1970 this monument was reported as 32 feet in diameter with a mound about 3 feet high encircled by a ditch around 6 feet across and 6 inches deep. The barrow mound is 5m across with an external ditch, it was digitally recorded from lidar imagery during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project.

A barrow group centred ST 730023 (See Table). <2-4>

E. ST 72980227, A tree covered, but otherwise undisturbed bowl barrow 10.0m in diameter and 1.1m high. The ditch 3.0m wide and 0.4m deep, is overlain in the northwest quadrant by the plantation boundary.

Tumuli surveyed at 1:2500 on MSD. <5>

The barrow mound is 5m across with an external ditch, it was digitally recorded from lidar imagery during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM Project (Lidar 2021 (7)).

'(60) Bowl (72980228), 87 yds. N.N.E. of (59), is covered with trees, and an old copse bank has destroyed the ditch on the E. side. Diam. 32 ft., ht. 3 ft. Ditch 6 ft. across, 6 ins. deep.'
