A broad shallow cultivation feature was found during excavations to the west of St Mary's Church, Bridport in 1975. It contained a large quantity of 19th century finds. These included iron slag, coal fragments, tobacco pipe bowls and stems of 17th-19th century date, pins, thimbles, buttons and pottery of 19th century date.
