Full Description
R.A. Hills conducted an archaeological excavation at Druitt Gardens, Christchurch (site X5) during the winter of 1972-3. Two small sherds of late Roman pottery with combed decoration were recovered in a residual context, from a 12th-13th century pit [F2]. (1)
A subsequent find of roman pottery nearby (site X14) might suggest the presence of a small roman settlement in the vicinity (2).
