Full Description
K. Jarvis conducted a watching brief at Christchurch Priory, Christchurch, during 1985 during the excavation of foundations for a link building between Priory House and the Priory Church. The results were subsequently published as a short note in PDNHAS volume 107 (1).
The watching brief recorded undated graves at several locations, some being noted by the contractors and reported to the archaeologist (K. Jarvis). The graves were all consistent with Christian burials. Within the limits of observation, no evidence of coffins or stone placings were noted. These burials and other unstratified human bone have been re-interred and the position marked
