Full Description

House (together with 18 High East Street) 'with shops,…has a rendered front and is probably of 16th century origin; it has been dratically remodelled. The ground floor is occupied by modern shops. The roof has four irregularly spaced trusses with principal rafters and chamfered and cambered collar beams. There are two purlins on each side, the lower one being placed low down near the wall plate; they are apparently tenoned into the principals and the joints are pegged through.' (1)
