Strip lynchets, possibly forming part of the medieval open fields of Suddon. (1)

The strip lynchets described above in (1) are visible as earthworks and cropmarks on aerial photographs. The features consist of narrow, linear, banks measuring between 42 m and 265 m in length. They are visible over an area measuring approximately 825 m by 350 m. (2-3) The system extends to the west (recorded in MDO24571). These features were digitally plotted as part of the Wild Purbeck Mapping Project.
