A note by our late Curator, Colonel Drew, on the O.S. 6-inch map sheet XX S.W. in the museum, records “site of Roman settlement – roof tiles, pottery etc” at ST 476 031 on a southerly slope about 550 feet above sea level, on the west side of the field south of the buildings on Buckham Down.
