Full Description
Evaluation excavation on the site of the former Channon's Garage, High East Street, Dorchester, undertaken by Exeter Archaeology in 2001, revealed the remains of a stone-lined well in Trench 1. The upper part of this well had been disturbed by robbing of the stone lining. This well is likely to be post-medieval in date and according to the excavators had been in use within living memory. It lay towards the rear of the garden behind 7 High East Street.
