Full Description

A well worn Roman Coin of Valens was found c. 1946 by W.A. Hamilton at the Gas Works, Icen Way, Dorchester. Farrar number 4 (1958) described as made from copper alloy, 18mm diam. Obverse: DN VALENS PF AUG, Diad. Bust dr. r; Reverse: GLORIA ROMANORUVM, Emp. Dragging captive; Mint: P CON.
