Full Description

The East Hill Group of round barrows consists of: 'K' - (SY 71438450) Ditched bowl barrow, 65ft diameter x 8ft high with ditch circa 12ft wide. Grinsell's (Osmington No 1). RCHM suggest that one of the barrows, 'K', 'L' or 'M' could have contained a primary inurned cremation in a cist, and a fragmentary inhumation near the top.

'K' - SY 71438449. Under grass. Overall diameter 31.0m, diameter of mound 23.0m, height 3.0m. Ditch 4.0m wide and 0.2m deep, destroyed to the west of the hedge. A ditch is visible only in barrows 'D' and 'K'. A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,J,K, and Q re-surveyed at 1:2500 on M.S.D. <4>

Possible site of a Broinze Age bowl barrow, visible as low earthworks on aerial photographs <6>. The site was digitally plotted during the South Dorset Ridgeway Mapping Project.
