Full Description
1. A type 22 pillbox located on an escarpment on the edge of Frampton Village.
2. Standard brick and concrete construction. However, the brick work is suffering very badly from frost erosion (Spalding).
3. It has a porch type entrance with a pistol hole and five main loopholes positioned on walls 1,2,3,4 and 5. All have been constructed in concrete. Outside the top elevation of brickwork is missing exposing the conglomerate concrete roof. Blast wall inside.
4. Dimensions: Front external elevation 8' exposed above ground level. Walls 19" thick, 7'9" external length. Entrance roof 13" sloping to 11.5" at edge. External entrance 27"x79", internal entrance 28"x56". Roof 13" thick laid in 5" bands. Internal blast wall 39"x46"x9.5" in 'T' shape. Internal height 78". Internal walls 5'9" wide. Loopholes 15"x8" external, widening to 28"x14" internally. Pisol port 11"x7" externally, widening to 12"x14" internally.
