Summary

One of two dwellings formed from what was originally one house, thought to have been built in the eighteenth century. The building has walls of cob covered in plaster and a thatched roof, and incorporates a range of former outbuildings to the west. This range has a tiled roof.

‘Monuments (8–41) unless otherwise described are of two storeys with walls of rubble or cob and thatched roofs; they are of the late 18th or early 19th century. The cottages are generally built on a two-room plan with a central entrance. … Monuments (35—41), in E. Burton, were all built as cottages on a two-room plan with one end chimney and are mostly of the early 18th century. Some have the upper storey partly in the roof. … (39) House (833870) has extensive additions to the original cottage.’
