Full Description

SY 45729880. A round barrow at Great Strode House, Netherbury, is too damaged for measurement. (1)

The barrow near Lower Strode Farm, is a symetrically oval mound, highest at the centre. The dimensions are 95 feet East to West by 65 feet, and 4-5 feet high. Possibly a long-barrow, but it is damaged on either side by tracks. A capstone 3-4 inches thick and 3 feet square resting on vertical stones was also discovered. Plough damaged, but now left alone.
