Summary

A house built in the late 17th or early 18th century. The building has walls of cob covered in plaster and a thatched roof with brick chimney stacks, and a large modern extension at the rear. Surviving features of the interior are reported to include the remains of a bread oven and a stop-chamfered ceiling beam. Worked stone jambs may have come from Bindon Abbey.

‘The following monuments unless otherwise described are of one storey and attics with cob walls and thatched roofs. … (6) Cottages, two, with walls of rubble and cob partly faced in brickwork, were built in the 18th century.’
