‘The following houses unless otherwise described are of two storeys with cob walls and thatched roofs; the barns are of similar building materials. NORTH STREET (see village plan) E. side: … (19) HOUSE was built in the late 17th or early 18th century when it must have had a range of three rooms, the middle one unheated. It was greatly altered towards the middle of the 19th century.’
