One of two shops formed from a house built in the early seventeenth century. The building has walls covered in roughcast, probably over cob, and a thatched roof with a brick chimney stack. The Post Office has a twentieth-century shop front.

‘The following houses unless otherwise described are of two storeys with cob walls and thatched roofs; the barns are of similar building materials. WEST STREET (see village plan) N. side: … (4) HOUSE was built in the early 17th century; on plan it has a central chimney and two rooms.’
