Summary

Detached farm house of early eighteenth century date, enlarged twice in the nineteenth century - small twentieth addition on south. Brick walls with a thatched roof. L-shaped plan. Original section of 2 storeys and attic -later additions one storey and attic.

and casements. Brick stacks. C.18. <2>

SY 839950. Shitterton Farmhouse of two storeys and attics, was built of brick in the early 18th century. In the mid 19th century
the south wing was extended, the addition being of one storey and attics. (The building is shown as Sitterton Farm on OS 6" 1968, this is no doubt for prudish reasons as Mills suggests in EPNS Dorset 1 1977 276). <3>
