Summary

A detached cottage built in the early eighteenth century and extended in the late eighteenth or early nineteenth century. The building has walls of stone rubble with a stone slate roof, and brick and stone chimney stacks.

‘The following monuments unless otherwise described are of two storeys, or in a few instances of one storey with attics, and have walls of local Purbeck stone rubble and stone-slated roofs; they are of the late 18th or early 19th century. … (4) House, Stoneleigh (40 yds. S.), has been enlarged towards the N. and remodelled internally.’
