Summary

Fragments of the bank and ditched park pale associated with the medieval deer park of Melcombe Park are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project. The park incorporates two smaller enclosures described in MDO49698-9, as well as other boundary ditches which may be contemporary with the medieval deer park or of later post medieval date.

Fragments of the bank and ditched park pale associated with the medieval deer park of Melcombe Park are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery and were digitally recorded during the Mid Dorset Downs AIM project. The park incorporates two smaller enclosures described in MDO49698-9, as well as other boundary ditches which may be contemporary with the medieval deer park or of later post medieval date.
