Full Description

The west wall of the farmhouse cottage at Wilkswood Farm is alleged to contain remains of Wilkswood Priory. <1>

The western wall of the farmhouse cottage at SY 99567954 is certainlyearlier than the remainder of the building, but there is nothing to substantiate the claim that this forms the Priory remains. A blocked stone windw, with square and moulded frame is contained within this wall but does not appear to be in its original position. <2>

SY 995795. Wilkswood Farmhouse is largely mid 19th century but it incorporates in the western half the walls of a 17th century house of
hall and inner room type; the original fireplace and a small window in the west end wall remain. <3>
