Full Description

A chapel of ease at Holt, dedicated to Saint James, is recorded from 1368, served by Christchurch Priory and after the Dissolution by Wimborne Minster.

In 1834/35 it was replaced by a new building consisting of a nave only, on the same site. In 1882 Holt became a separate ecclesiastical parish, and in 1889 a chancel was added to the church. The building is of brick with a slate roof. <1> <3>
