Summary

Early 19th century, Corner building. Painted brick with eaves cornice and modern tiled hipped roof. 3 storeys. 1 window to High Street, 3 to Castle Street and 1 blank over entrance door to Ye Olde George Inne which is incorporated in this building (see Castle Street). Sashes with segmental arches and glazing bars, 1st floor High Street has angular bay with unbarred sashes. Modern shop front ground floor. No 76 is also part of an important focal group at the crossing of the towns main streets with Ye Olde George Inne Castle Street, No 1 Church Street and No 67 High Street, the latter of local interest.
