Barton Farm. Late C18th farmhouse mid C16th cottage adjoining on the west. <1>

'(51) Barton Farm, house 100 yards W. of (50), was built late in the 18th century. The cottage adjoining it on the W. retains on the S. front a number of buttresses in weathered stages and was built probably in the 16th century. The modern house W. of the farm road has a reset 18th-century wrought-iron porch. A measured drawing of it by J. Seymour Lindsay, F.S.A., is in the Antiquaries' Journal, xxviii, pl. xv.'
